Brighton's slim hopes of claiming a Championship play-off spot are over despite them coming from two goals down to snatch a draw with Watford. Albion were facing defeat after Sean Murray's free-kick and a Troy Deeney penalty put the Hornets in control. But Inigo Calderon pulled one back and Will Buckley scored a late goal against his former club to salvage a point. However, this was not enough for Albion who are now seven points off the play-offs with two games left to play. Gus Poyet's men can take some solace from the fact they avoided a fourth successive defeat and will reflect back on what has been a successful first season back in the second tier of English football. Use accessible player and disable flyout menus This was a third successive draw for Watford against teams in and around the play-offs and it leaves them 13th on 60 points. Poyet made six changes from the 6-0 drubbing at West Ham on Saturday, including giving a debut to former Manchester City reserve goalkeeper David Gonzalez. His first act, though, was to pick the ball out of the net after Football League young player of the month Murray curled in a superb free-kick from 25 yards. Ashley Barnes' rash tackle from behind on Jonathan Hogg in the area gave Deeney the chance to double Watford's lead from the spot and he made no mistake, leaving the home side to be booed off by their own fans at half-time. Brighton were given hope nine minutes into the second half when captain Calderon charged forward from right-back and lashed the ball past Kuszczak at the second attempt and, with 11 minutes to go, Buckley grabbed his side a point by tucking in substitute Vicente's cross. Brighton manager Gus Poyet: Use accessible player and disable flyout menus The booing is not acceptable, I would like to tell them not to come if they don't like it, if they don't like the way we play, stay at home. There's something wrong in this football club, maybe it's time we told them what they can expect. I don't know the last time Brighton were in the top 10 of the Championship. There were too many things wrong tonight, too many on the pitch and off the pitch. But it's the first time I've seen a reaction like that from the stands. Maybe I should say it was a minority but I didn't like it. They are being unfair on an unbelievable group of players who have brought joy to this football club. Watford manager Sean Dyche: He's [Sean Murray] a very talented young man who is enjoying his football which we have given him the freedom to do. He's got a nice manner about him, he works very hard and when you throw in his talent it's a nice mixture. We played to win in the first half. To go two up at Brighton, with their home record, and make them play it long at times is very pleasing. This has been an expensive season for new grounds, with trips to Wimbledon and two trips to deepest Sussex. For this game, I got a ticket with the Watford lot and found a great b & b for £50 (FIVE Old Steine). Very impressed with the ground and the transport links to it Less impressed with the team's South American-style gamesmanship. Surely, there is something amiss if a player who has confronted an opponent after an-admittedly foul-tackle throws himself on his back when the opponent holds his hands up to protect himself-not a punch, not even a push. Brighton's difficulties over years warrant sympathy, and it would be a shame to squander it with the dark arts on the field. Up to 92 again, Fleetwood and Rotherham will top up to 150. The rule I use is to see a competitive match,(PL, FL, FA Cup, International) whilst the ground is in use as a League ground
