Ticket price £27.00 x2 = £54 (A127/M25/M11/A14/A1/M18/M1/A630/A621 - a round trip of 423 miles which took 3hrs 10 mins on the way up and 4 hrs on the way back! A game that E attended and upon which we were met by scores of riot police whilst trying to find somewhere safe to park! Parking was a particular problem with loads of cars being given parking tickets around the ground although I''d done my research and found a great little car park (Broom Close) less than a 10 minutes walk from the ground that charged £1.50 for 12 hours!! First impressions of Bramall Lane were set by the stewards who were awful quite frankly, being either rude or over zealous, the catering staff were almost just as bad! The stadium itself is very impressive, certainly Premier League standard although our seats which had very poor leg room were the very end of row AA in the South Stand so we had a great view of at least one of the goals! The Barnsley fans certainly added to the atmosphere by being very vocal which clearly had an effect on their team who were the much better side who deserved to win although Sheffield Utd continually played a Respect video plus other adverts throughout the entire duration of the game which I found to be an incredible distraction although my wife appreciated having something else to watch apart from the game!!!!
