A First Saturday Game for a while and as I wasn''t willing to travel that far York was my closest I had not watched a match at. Me & Dad had visited Bootham Crescent not long after there Promotion back to the Football league in 2012 so I had been looking forward to watching a game there for a while. Making the journey alone this time, got the Bridlington to York train route and arrived in plenty of time, following the directions via my Ground Book by Duncan Admas, made it the ground with an hour & bit to spare Picked tickets up and had a look around side of ground (enclosed with houses all around) Lined up to enter the ground & had bag searched , told to remove the bottle tops on my drinks - which I was pleased about but anyways got into the ground and walked round to the Popular Stand - picked my seat plenty to choose from, the ground soon filled up with York scoring first in the first minute, it was a nervy game but Southend didn''t really threaten, finished 2-1 which was important as York were fighting off Relegation along with a handful of teams. Remained at the ground and saw the end of season celebration but other results went against York meaning it would go down to the last game and against Dagenham of all teams, Luckily York survived for another season All in all a good day out, the ground is looking tired in places but a good turn out good atomsphere for a small ground and another one ticked off Back on train an hour later looking forward to next game not sure what yet though
